Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was an Iranian politician and diplomat. He served as the foreign minister of Iran from 2021 until his death in a helicopter crash in 2024. Prior to becoming foreign minister, he served as the deputy foreign minister for Arab and African Affairs between 2011 and 2016. He was a key figure in Iran's foreign policy and diplomacy efforts.
