Surayud Chulanont is a Thai former politician and military officer. He served as the 24th prime minister of Thailand and head of Thailand's interim government between 2006 and 2008, following a military coup. Prior to his premiership, he was the supreme commander of the Royal Thai Army. He currently holds the position of Privy Councilor to King Vajiralongkorn, advising the monarch on matters of state.
