Subcomandante Marcos, now known as Capitán Insurgente Marcos, is a Mexican insurgent and former military leader. He gained prominence as the spokesman for the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) during the Chiapas conflict. Marcos is known for his anti-capitalist and anti-neoliberal stance.
