Rachel Corrie was an American nonviolence activist and diarist who was a member of the pro-Palestinian International Solidarity Movement (ISM). She was active in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. In 2003, while protesting the demolition of Palestinian houses in Rafah, Gaza Strip, she was killed by an Israeli armored bulldozer. Her death sparked international controversy and debate regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
