Jean Castex is a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France from 2020 to 2022. Prior to his appointment as Prime Minister by President Emmanuel Macron, he was the mayor of the small town of Prades for twelve years. Castex is a member of The Republicans (LR) party. After leaving public office as Prime Minister, he was named president of the state-owned RATP (Autonomous Operator of Parisian Transports) and later president of SNCF (French National Railway Company).
