Elio Di Rupo is a Belgian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Belgium from 2011 to 2014. He headed the Di Rupo Government and served as minister-president of Wallonia multiple times. Di Rupo made history as the first francophone Prime Minister since 1979 and the first socialist since 1974. He was also Belgium's first prime minister of non-Belgian descent and the world's first openly gay male head of government in modern times.
