David Arthur Granger is a Guyanese former politician and retired military officer who served as the ninth President of Guyana from 2015 to 2020. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career in the Guyana Defence Force, eventually rising to the rank of Commander. He also served as National Security Advisor. As a politician, he was the Leader of the Opposition before becoming president.
