Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician and U.S. military officer, currently serving as the eighth director of national intelligence (DNI) since 2025. She previously served as a U.S. Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021 and in the Hawaii House of Representatives. Gabbard was a member of the Democratic Party until 2022, then became independent, and later joined the Republican Party in 2024. She is also a veteran of the Iraq War.
