Rod Laver is an Australian former professional tennis player, widely considered one of the greatest of all time. He was ranked as the world number 1 professional player indisputably for five years from 1965 to 1969. Laver is the only player in tennis history to have twice won the calendar-year Grand Slam, in 1962 as an amateur and in 1969 as a professional. He accumulated 200 singles titles across his amateur and professional careers, the most of any male tennis player.
