Mia Amor Mottley is a Barbadian politician and lawyer who has served as the eighth prime minister of Barbados since 2018. She is also the Leader of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) since 2008. Notably, Mottley is the first woman to hold both positions in Barbados. She oversaw the transition of Barbados to a republic, becoming the first prime minister of the new republic.
