Mairead Maguire, also known as Mairead Corrigan Maguire, is a peace activist from Northern Ireland. Along with Betty Williams and Ciaran McKeown, she co-founded Women for Peace, which later became Community for Peace People. This organization worked to foster a peaceful resolution to the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Maguire and Williams were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1976 for their efforts.
