Laurent Fignon was a French professional road bicycle racer who achieved great success in the sport. He won the Tour de France twice, in 1983 and 1984, and the Giro d'Italia in 1989. Fignon was known for his aggressive riding style and distinctive look, characterized by his ponytail and glasses. He narrowly missed winning a third Tour de France in 1989, losing to Greg LeMond by a mere eight seconds. Sadly, Laurent Fignon died from cancer in 2010.
