Keith Ellison is an American politician and lawyer currently serving as the Attorney General of Minnesota, a position he has held since 2019. Prior to this role, he represented Minnesota's 5th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019, covering the Minneapolis region. Ellison also served as Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee for a year. He began his political career in the Minnesota House of Representatives, serving from 2003 to 2007. Ellison is a member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party.
