Benjamin McKenzie Schenkkan, born September 12, 1978, is an American actor, author, and commentator. He gained fame for his starring role as Ryan Atwood on the teen drama 'The O.C.' (2003–2007). He is also known for his roles as Ben Sherman on 'Southland' (2009–2013) and James Gordon on 'Gotham' (2014–2019). In addition to his acting career, McKenzie has ventured into writing and commentary.
